Ight Imma Head Out Now...

 Hello everyone! 

    Although this week's blog topic might be the easiest, I found myself having a hard time choosing my blog topic. The internet is such a vast medium, and I spend most of my day looking at different types of media, whether it's youtube, Music, memes, internet posts, etc, that I was not able to choose just one thing. Instead, I let the internet pick for me! As a serious meme consumer, I went on the BuzzFeed quizzes and completed their "Which 2019 Meme Are You" Quiz. After answering a series of questions, BuzzFeed has found me to be the Spongebob meme "Imma Head Out Now" 


    As you can see, my result came as a visual meme and a short description of why my personality corresponds to this specific meme. Obviously, the explanation of why my personality has similarities to the SpongeBob meme is a little stretched, but it's still funny to test and see the results. But I do however like Spongebob-inspired memes above any other sort of meme. And I find them relatable and funny because the majority of us grew up watching Spongebob, so to integrate something from the past and apply it to situations from our present life is something I find very interesting. I also like the community memes have created on the Internet. For example, going back to the meme I posted, it reflects a familiar feeling that many of us have felt; wanting to get out of a situation, a room, or an uncomfortable setting.  With this, meme creators like to add their own touch to the meme and start to target specific uncomfortable situations. It becomes almost like a competition of who can make the most relatable "Imma head out" meme to the largest group of people.

    Hello! I enjoyed reading your post about the Buzzfeed quiz you took, as it reminded me of how often I used to take the quizzes in the past. I really enjoyed the quizzes, as they were often centered around intriguing topics (such as which celebrity you would date, which food are you, which TV character are you most like, etc). I also really like the pictures that are provided under the choices, as they make the quizzes more engaging and visually pleasing. Most of the quizzes are quite creative and can offer some insight into your life.

International Podcasts on Youtube

Hello everyone in CS371! My name is Matthew Spina and I would like to focus my first blog post around a podcast I typically watch on Youtube called The Fellas . The U.K based podcast, hosted by Youtuber's Calfreezy and TheBurntChip, has been running for almost a year amassing over 350,000 subscribers. They primarily discuss ongoing pop culture moments happening around the world to their past life experiences while also inviting guest's onto the show to provide deeper insights into their lives. For example, these guests could range from fellow Youtuber's to watch collectors and comedians.  The Fellas  podcast is also available on multiple platforms such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify providing listeners with the ability to both view and listen to their weekly episodes.       The Fellas podcast is a great example as to how social media and social life can be intertwined while providing the ability to connect humans on a global scale. BLOG POST 3 - Seif Amer

  In class we discussed the concept of media assemblages or media ecologies which are a collection of forms and practices that facilitate a specific media environment. A media ecology can be understood and analyzed by the use of three distinct articulations.  The articulation of focus is #3, which focuses on how the medium is brought to life, and how it is spread through a culture, community or society to best deliver the message. This means taking advantage of spatio-temporal concepts of media distribution, creation and consumption.
