Tiny Houses
Hello everyone!
For my first post I want to discuss tiny houses! Tiny houses are exactly what they sound like; they are houses that are smaller than typical houses. There are many reasons people have switched to tiny houses such as their affordability, eco-friendliness, minimalism, etc. I was first introduced to tiny houses a few years ago through my YouTube recommendations and I am still obsessed with them to this day. Throughout the past few years, I have noticed a rise in content on tiny houses from an increase in social media accounts dedicated to them to even Netflix shows focused on tiny houses! For me, I really enjoy seeing how creative people get with such small spaces and how they design them so they are still able to fit all of their necessities. On social media, you can also find content on how to build your own tiny houses and the costs of building them. If you have never seen a tiny house, I would highly recommend searching them up! I will link a YouTube video of a tiny house tour if anyone is interested!
Hi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteThis video is super cool, thank you for sharing! Although I have never seen this specific video before, I have seen other tv shows and videos similar to this where they feature mini homes across the globe and the stories behind them. I agree that there has most definitely been a rise in online and video content featuring tiny homes like this which one can assume is due to its rising popularity as an economic and environmentally friendly alternative when it comes to ones lifestyle. Similar to your story on how you came across this youtube channel, when on youtube, I also tend to find myself landing on random videos that seem interesting and continue to watch them for hours on end. For example, I was on youtube one night and a video from 'Primitive Builders' showed up as one of the videos that was "up next". I still watch primitive builders on my free time, and sometimes find my self surfing YouTube for new types of videos and channels to engage with.
If you've never seen primitive builders YouTube channel, you should go check it out! Essentially, they're a group of guys that live in a tropical jungle and build incredible structures with their bare hands and with natural resources around them. I will link a video of theirs in case you are interested in giving it a watch.

Thanks for the post!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your post for this week. I have seen a few Youtube and Tiktok videos on tiny houses and I also find them to be very captivating. It is interesting to see how people live differently than I personally do. While these houses are small many people that create these tiny house videos still find ways to make them look beautiful and design them really well. I personally don't think that I'd be able to live in a tiny house, but I still enjoy watching these videos as well. Have you ever considered living in a tiny home?
Thanks,
Maddy
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this video and the type of homes. I always find myself looking at video home tours of HUGE houses in LA, because they got so much space and can do whatever they want with decoration and design. However, after seeing your video, I am starting to appreciate the designs of these tiny homes a lot! It is so had to set up and place all these essential rooms (living room, kitchen, bedroom) and make them look aesthetically pleasing too. Like their home looks much much better than mine haha.
Have a nice day :)
These things are pretty fascinating honestly. I can fully see where the interest comes from. Especially in terms of design, there's so much more freedom in terms of what you can do with a tiny house considering the size and cost convenience. I didn't see you mention if you plan to live in one at some point, or if you're just interested in looking at/exploring them. Either way, a unique and cool interest!
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that I found you post on tiny houses as reading through it, it completely unlocked a memory from my childhood. I remember probably when I was about 10 or 11 years old my family wanted to go on a weekend getaway one summer and were searching online for different experiences rather than just staying in hotel. It was through this that they discovered someone renting out their tiny house as a bed and breakfast when we decided to give it a try. this was before tiny houses were as popular as they are today so we had no idea what we were walking into but were excited to try something new. Thankfully I am an only child so it was just my parents and I in the tiny house so we had just enough room and although I don't remember much from the experience since it was so long ago, I remember having a good time and doing a show and tell presentation on it when I went back to school in September.
I had definitely forgotten about tiny houses until this post but now my interest has been reignited and I can't wait to check out some Netflix shows and more YouTube videos on them.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED your post this week!! I really appreciated the fact that you decided to post on tiny houses this week because I also find myself very interested in them as well and I haven't heard about them in a while! I think tiny houses are honestly a genius concept especially for all of the positive reasons you listed above. Not only are they affordable and eco friendly but I also think tiny homes can help us realize that you don't need a mansion in order to feel fulfilled. You can have everything you need in a smaller space, and sometimes, this can even be better. I personally love watching tv shows like Selling Sunset where these massive million dollar homes are shown and we get to see them building and decorating them. But these shows can sometimes promote over consumption and maximalism, which are not really things we want to be delving in too, so I think tiny homes are really innovative and also promote a positive message. I would love to own a tiny home one day.
Hello! I really enjoyed reading your blog post and learning more about tiny houses! I had never heard or seen them before, but I am super fascinated by this idea. The way that social media has the ability to display different lifestyles is so interesting. We are able to learn about other peoples lifestyles just by watching a YouTube video. I have always been intrigued by different cultures and lifestyles, so I love how accessible social media makes it to learn about others. What other lifestyles or cultures has social media made you aware of that you otherwise would have never known about?
ReplyDeleteHey there,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your post, that's an amazing video and story you shared.
prior to reading this, I though I was the only one who watched Tiny houses lol. but its amigo to know there is someone else that shares the same interests as I do. I enjoy how innovate the constructors and interior designers are as at some point I aspire to be one. Many individuals who choose this lifestyle reassess their priorities in life and decide to devote more time and energy to improving their communities, mending the environment, spending time with their family, or conserving money. There are also other shows like selling the sunset, marriage to mortage, etc. THANKS FOR SHARING
